Abound
My life is meaningful, even in the hardest of times I practice gratitude. Currently I am pursuing a small business (SewSoar), which is vastly different from the years of addiction and guidance counseling.
The journey began when I made a jean bag for my granddaughter. Using her favorite outgrown jeans, gave the project more flavor. The jean purse was a hit. Requests from other parents and friends of my granddaughter came in tad bits. Elated that my work was noticed encouraged me to collaborate SEWSOAR. After making seven more jean bags, I envisioned a small online store, with different and necessary gift ideas.
Focusing on appearance, convenience, and efficient function by creating one of a kind (OOAK) backpacks for children and adults, was elaborated into SEWSOAR. In addition, handmade baby blankets with baby pillows, jewelry, over night bags, stuffed beanie ‘babeez’, PJ’s, totes, makeup bags, and more has given SEWSOAR a running start. The freedom to remain autonomous is my goal.
During the holidays, I made 75 to 100 backpacks. The small church that I partake in, gave from a cheerful heart (Gal. 6:5). The packs were filled with basic items’; toothbrushes, toothpaste, water, socks, gloves, hand knitted hats, coats, t-shirts, shoes, granola bars, watches, and other. One hundred new sleeping bags were donated and distributed as well.
Next we met downtown Denver to strategize our course. The twelve volunteers carried the packs and sleeping bags, walking block after block in the most populated area of homelessness and drug infested Metro Denver. During the journey the scripture came to me, 'love never fails'. We can all give this with NO dues or fees attached. The glow on the faces of those who participated was a gift to behold.
Regardless of the outcome, I try like heck to enjoy the journey and not look back nor regret the past. LEAP FOR JOY as you pursue Gods purpose for your life. Luke 6:23.
So glad you stopped by!
